August 10, 2012
Mumbai/Mathura, Aug 10 (ANI): Hundreds of Hindu devotees today celebrated Gokulashtami also known as Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, and participated in the event of 'Dahi Handi' staged to the tunes of famous jingle 'Govinda Aalare Aala' in Mumbai. As per Hindu mythological tale, Lord Krishna during his childhood days used to steal butter from the earthen pot which used to be tied and suspended at an unreachable height, so that he and his friends were not able to eat it.
