Floating hospital a great relief for patients
May 16, 2012
Kochi, May 16 (ANI): Patients living in the remote islands of Kerala would now be able to get treatment as under the National Rural Health Mission, the Kerala government has undertaken an initiative to convert a vessel into a hospital. For the old patients in their late 90’s who are living around Kochi backwaters, the hospital has come as a boon as it is difficult for them to visit hospitals in the mainland. The hospital, set up on a motor boat, is equipped with a Medical team comprising of one medical officer, Staff nurse and a pharmacist who visits the areas as per the predefined schedule, which dispenses free medicines and checkups.
