By Eye TV India BureauIn the News
Writer Shridhar Raghavan, who has written scripts for films like ‘Khakee’ and ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, says he loved ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and is eagerly waiting for the second part. In fact, he is completely blown over by `Gangs of Wasseypur`. He describes it as an epic, poetic, dramatic and yet dark humor- filled revenge saga spanning half a century! Appreciating director Anurag Kashyap and other actors, he posted: "Superbly directed and shot. Deadly performances by Bajpayee, Tigmanshu, Richa, and Nawaz. Fabulous score, great lines." Both parts of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ are a take on the coal mafia. Raghavan watched the movie at a special screening held on June 16.
Incidentally, Zeishan Quadri, who has written the script of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur, and co-written the film’s screenplay and dialogue, was born and brought up in Wasseypur, Dhanbad. He completed his BBA from Meerut before moving to Delhi from where he landed in Bollywood to fulfill his “hero banna hai” dream. He sold the concept to Anurag Kashyap for a simple deal that includes writing of the script and playing the character Definite, a key character in the second part of the two-part film. When asked Quadri says he plays a mohalla goon in the movie.
