Maoists kill village head’s husband

Hanumanthpur, May 24 (ANI): Maoists killed the husband of a village head in Maoist-hit Rayagada district of Odisha taking advantage of the mudslinging between the state government and top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda over the alleged ongoing anti-rebel operations.Wife of Dev Gagranga and Hanumanthpur village head, Lahari Gagranga, said that the rebels had demanded rupees 10,000 from her husband and since he failed to pay the amount, the extremists killed him. Dev Gagranga’s brother, Pradip Gagranga, said his brother had requested them to give him one-month’s time, but they did not pay heed to his request and shot him dead.
