'Karma: Crime, Passion, Reincarnation' is a compact thriller. The movie has already seen the light of the day in the international circuit through several film festivals. Thus, the movie has influenced the audience by depicting the eternal Indian tale of rebirth. Since the movie is made against a sylvan backdrop of the picturesque hills and tea plantations of Ooty, it has come out very well. Though its story is archaic, yet it is interesting as it catches one's imagination.
According to the movie's story, a young couple comprising Vikram played by Carlucci Weyant and Anna, an American girl played by Alma Saraci, arrives at Ooty, an Indian hill station and also the home town of Vikram's dad. But, Vik isn't very happy coming here as his father Ranbir played by Vijayendra S Ghatge had never looked after him for five long years. However, Vik's wife who loves Indian tradition and culture drags her husband to his hometown. Anna bonds very well with her father-in-law who welcomes them, especially her who is completely Indian in behavior though an American by origin. Meanwhile, their mansion in Ooty suddenly perks up with the new arrivals, even as Anna seems to be reveling in her newfound family ties, while husband Vik is still skeptical of his father.

The bonding between the father-in-law and his daughter-in-law instantly hits off. However, Anna's sudden visitations, which see her remembering people, and places she's never seen before, come in the way. Things get worse when Anna sees the ghost of Linda, an Austrian woman who disappeared from a rave party in Ooty some decades ago. Incidentally, Linda is played by none other than German girl Claudia Siesla, who is allegedly involved in a controversy in India for her proximity with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. This is another matter that Claudia has herself denied any such affair with Salman and rather asserted her close relations with Sallu's girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The latter has also dittoed it.

Anyway, Anna's search leads her to strange people and places in the small town. She hears a voice calling her name and sees a young woman Linda around. As a result, her husband Vik gets upset with his wife and about her rubbish ideas. Since no one else sees Linda, Vik suggests they consult with a psychiatrist. However, Vik soon realizes that his wife isn't wrong as he finds to his utter surprise that old newspaper clippings from the Internet verify the mysterious disappearance of an Austrian tourist in splendor of Ooty. He wonders if Anna is actually Linda. Meanwhile Ranvir wants Vikram to take over his tea estate and explains why Vik's dad and mum had to separate!

Overall, the movie is worth a watch. It is significant at a time when the audience has starved of good movies for over two months following the standoff between the two vital parts of the film industry. Shahjahan who has directed the movie has done full justice to the story which is very well drafted by Vivek Singhania and Amit Mehra. The dialogues are crisp and refreshing. Acting-wise, each member of the cast has played their role very well. Vijayendra S Ghatge of the Buniyaad TV serial fame has acted as Vik's father Ranvir excellently well. Similarly, Carlucci Weyant and Alma Saraci look natural in their roles of a newly wedded couple as if they are made for each other. Claudia Siesla has played Linda perfect. She is charming and likely to attract Indian audience as desired by her.
