There is a good news for the music buffs though after a very long time. They would now taste the compositions of Annu Malek in the eagerly awaited and much-hyped 'Kambakkht Ishq'. The music of the film, which stars Akhshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards, is good though in parts only. The soundtrack has five originals and four remixes.
Om Mangalam, Mangalam is the opening track composed and sung by RDB. It's a hip-hop track, and is sure to attract music buffs. The track has all the ingredients to list in the chartbuster. The song also has a remixed version also which comes at number 6 titled Om Mangalam (reprised). Good attempt by RDB
Coming next is Hindi-Punjabi-English mix song Lakh Lakh by Neeraj Shridhar. A good fast paced track especially for dance floors. The track is a good mixture of Punjabi lyrics with western tunes. The track opens in a rap style but later turns into a track full of masti. The song is very well picturised. Neeraj has given his best. This track too has a remixed version electro Dhol House mix by Eric Pillai, coming at no 7. The remixed version impresses too.
Now comes a track Bebo sung by Alisha Chinai. This is another fast paced track. Though music lovers expected a lot from Alisha Chinai, but she disappoints them. You may recall that this is one of the favorite tracks of Kareena. She disclosed this to us during her recent visit to Delhi for the promotion of the movie. However, music lovers call it an ordinary below expectation track by Alisha! Like earlier two tracks this track too has a remixed version with little more beats.
Then comes the title track Kambakkht Ishq sung by KK and Sunidhi Chauhan. Though the music is good, but the lyrics are unimpressive. KK and Shan teams completely disappoint. This is yet another worst track from the album. The remix version is as worst as the original one.
Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan's slow paced track Kyun follows this. This is well sung. A good time pass romantic track after so many fast-paced and remix tracks, we may say. Good soothing number from the album. This track has a solo version by Shreya.
Overall, this is an average album with three good original tracks. The much-hyped movie disappoints in respect of its music. Alas, even the Bollywood-Hollywood mixed team fails to meet music lovers' expectations.
