Director Prawaal Raman's upcoming film, on the ill-famous Charles Sobhraj is donning a new scriptural avatar after his three years' efforts. Prawaal's last film '404' was a chilling horror film. But, the big biopic of the notorious convict best known for the biggest Indian jail break (Delhi's Tihar) is being cut down to suit an action-thriller packed film starring Saif Ali Khan. Once, Sanjay Dutt was considered for the role. And, Saif was not keen on playing Sobhraj per se. Then Saif liked the idea of Sobhraj's escape from Tihar jail. And, reportedly, that's the aspect of the film now taken forward and a rewrite done to make it good for Saif's personality!

Some terrific action sequences are in place and the shoot will be entirely on location at the Tihar jail in Delhi, capturing the dare devilish daylight jail break in March 1986 in real-time detail. Prawaal Raman has reportedly confirmed the script is a tighter 'thriller' now. Commercial elements have been added and the title is 'Jailbreak'. It's not Charles Sobhraj's story anymore by any stretch of the imagination, says the director.
