Sikhs in UK seek justice for Operation Blue Star
June 11, 2012
London, June 11 (ANI): Hundreds of activists and members of the Sikh community staged a huge rally at London’s Hyde Park as a mark of protest against the infamous 1984 Operation Blue Star. Demanding justice for the slain Sikh separatists, the activists shouted fiery slogans. Certain activists claimed that they would never forget the atrocities brought upon their kith and kin during the onslaught. Operation Blue Star was a military offensive carried out by the Indian Army from June 03 to June 06, 1984 aimed at flushing out Sikh separatists from the complex of the revered Golden Temple shrine in Amritsar.
