V-Prez Polls: Hamid Ansari files nomination

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Vice-President of India Hamid Ansari today filed his nomination papers for his re-election to the post. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and other prominent leaders of UPA were also present when Ansari filed his nomination papers. Ansari is expected to win the election comfortably as he is likely to get around 470 votes. If the Trinamool Congress also decides to support his candidature, then he is expected to get over 500 votes. On the eve of filing the nomination papers for the vice presidential election, Ansari spoke to the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and sought her support.
